Bea Berényi flute artist was born in Mohács in 1960. She started his flute studies at the age of 10 at the Liszt Ferenc Music School in Pécs with the guidance of Györgyné Várhidy. From the age of 14, studied István Barth at the Pécs Art Secondary School, where she was admitted to the Academy of Music in 1979. Here she went to Henrik Pröhle’s class, giving her diploma concert in 1984. From the same year she began her pedagogical career as a flute student at the Kodály School of Music in Kecskemét.
In the following years, together with her husband, Ákos Dratsay, a nationally renowned professional workshop was created. During her previous career, 23 students of the Academy of Fine Arts graduated 11 times in the nationwide competition, earned one of the first three places. Almost all of her students have successfully recorded in music higher education in Hungary and in recent years abroad. In recognition of her pedagogical work, in 2016 she received the Kecskemét City Talent Award. Since September 2016 she has been a teacher at the Vienna Conservatory in Budapest.
During her artistic career, she has played as a chamber musician and soloist almost 1,000 times in both domestic and foreign locations. Numerous CDs and radio recordings document her art. She was awarded the Artisjus Prize four times and received the Kecskemét Kodály Award.
