Saxophone

  1. The general and specific objectives of the subject are:

During the course of training, the main objective is to train saxophone teachers who meet the modern requirements of performing arts on the basis of high musical instrumentation and versatility. Students learn about the works of saxophone literature and learn how to develop their musical thinking, style and instrumental skills. Particular attention is paid to education in the expansion of saxophone technology, more specifically the game modes which are the 20th century. From the second half of the 19th century they have been increasingly applied and gained in contemporary composers’ works. This applies not only to the solo literature of the saxophone, but also to a number of chamber works.

2.2. Content of the course
The acquisition of appropriate technical preparedness is done using high-quality and difficulty etudes. These technical etudes, finger counts, and related „air” articulation exercises that develop the students’ skills appropriate if the result of many repetitions are imprinted in the memory. At the same time, technical development is supported by non-ethnically-produced, but it helps the same high difficulty requirements’ performance solo pieces .

Another important element of the training is the teaching of musical, expression, performative skills and style. The saxophone literature is rich in modern art, less in baroque and classical works. This problem can be solved through transcripts. More and more such expenditur will appear. We strive to make every important style throughout the study period become students’ own.
