- Two etudes: One chosen by the candidate, and one compulsory etude chosen by the examination panel one month before the audition date.
- One short piece – solo or with accompaniment.
- One complete sonata.
- One complete concerto played from memory.
- Sight-reading of an orchestral part given on the day of the examination.
The sonata and the concerto have to be of different style.
Recommended material:
Solo piece: a movement from a Bach cello suite, pieces by Koussevitzky, Bottesini, etc.
Sonata: Misek I, II, Hindemith, etc.
Concerto: Dittersdorf, Vanhal, Bottesini, Koussewitzky, etc.
