  1. General objectives of the specialization:

Students acquire professional knowledge and general music literacy, which makes them suitable for performing their professional qualifications.

General tasks of the specialization::

Explain to the student  the play mode required for high-end musical expression and professional instrument management, and to make sure that the playing modes and the musical concept are coherent; develop the musical abilities of the students, their rhythm sensation, their music, musical memory, creative talent and performances; to develop the ability of thinking, self-directed spiritual control, the need for constant self-cultivation; explain the context of musical instrument and musical performance; describe the main styles of the instrument’s literature; make it receptive to the reception of contemporary music; learn how to play instrumental music , improve the moral characteristics of the students (will, endurance, etc.), aesthetic sense, shape your personality.

Admission requirements

  1. Performance of three popular jazz standards of different tempo (slow, medium, fast): theme, improvisation, harmony playing, chordal accompaniment.
  2. Playing major and minor blues (improvisation, chordal playing without theme) in various keys and tempos.
  3. Knowledge of about 10 jazz standards – theme and improvisation – in original harmonisation from memory. The repertoire has to be presented to the examination panel in the exam material submitted by the candidate.
  4. Improvisation on the harmonic line given at the exam.
  5. Sight reading of a melody or chordal line given at the exam.
  6. Presentation of frequently used jazz chords in basic position and in various inversions.

Extending the jazz kits kit, individual harmony shooting exercises; performances pieces, jazz etudes; improvisation and instrument technical practices; writing and analyzing motifs, patterns; read reading exercises; repertoire: 10 pieces (simpler standard or blues, all memory)

Performing pieces, jazz etudes; improvisation and instrument technical practices; recording and analyzing motifs, patterns, chord attachments; simpler transcripts and analyzes; read reading exercises; repertoire: 10 new pieces (simpler standard or blues, all from memory)

Performing pieces, jazz etudes; improvisation and instrument technical practices; recording and analyzing motifs, patterns, chord attachments; simpler transcripts and analyzes; read reading exercises; repertoire: 10 new pieces (simpler standard or blues, all from memory)

  1. semester: 

Performing pieces, jazz etudes; improvisation and instrument technical practices; standard analyzes, re-harmonization options; analyzes of transcripts, great guitar personality playing; the collection and composition of motifs, patterns; read reading exercises; repertoire: repeat the pieces studied so far and 10 new pieces

5.-6. semester: 

Performing pieces, jazz etudes; improvisation and instrument technical practices; standard analyzes, re-harmonization options, melodies rethinking; the possibilities and styles of soloistic guitar playing; transcribing, recording and analyzing improvisations on other instruments; read reading exercises; repertoire: repeating the pieces learned so far, and learning 10 new pieces (all from memory)

7.-8. szemeszter: 

Performing pieces, jazz etudes; improvisation and instrument technical practices; standard analyzes, style exercises; independent composing exercises; transcribing, recording and analyzing improvisations on other instruments; sight – reading exercises; repertoire: repeating the pieces learned so far, and learning 10 new pieces (all from memory)
